American singer and entrepreneur Ray J, known, among other things, for his music career, television appearances, and for starring alongside Kim Kardashian in a famous private tape in 2003, made a surprising confession about his intimate life during an interview he gave months ago to former NFL player Cam Newton.
Newton, former Carolina Panthers quarterback and winner of the 2015 NFL MVP, hosts the podcast Funky Friday, where he spoke with Ray J about his years of fame, his relationships, and his past.
During the conversation, Ray J claimed that he had been with 12,500 different women. Newton wanted to know whether he really meant different people and, after Ray J confirmed that he did, tried to do the math.
The singer explained that during his touring years, he could be with between five and ten women in a single day. According to his own account, that intense lifestyle allowed him to reach a figure that even Newton found hard to imagine.
But the story did not end there. Ray J said that when he reached 10,000 women, he celebrated the number with a party at the adult club Booby Trap. According to him, around 400 or 500 women he had been with came to the venue to join him in the celebration, which he described as a kind of grand parade.
Newton even made a calculation during the interview: taking into account Ray J’s age and the length of time he would have maintained that lifestyle, the figure would imply an average of more than one new partner per day for decades.
And there is one final curious detail: Ray J claimed that, at his age, he was already thinking about putting a limit on that pace and that he only had about 1,000 more women left before retiring from that lifestyle.
That said: 12,500 is not an independently verified figure. It is the number Ray J himself claimed during the interview.
