A puppy survived eight hours under cement and dust. Eight hours without knowing whether anyone would hear him.

The 7.4-magnitude earthquake that shook Colombia on August 10 left hundreds dead and thousands of families homeless, but it also left behind these scenes that people needed to see: a puppy trapped among the ruins of a building in Cali, located by emergency teams that never stopped searching. With ropes, patience, and great care, rescuers made their way through the rubble until they managed to pull him out alive. Creating a small moment of joy.

Something similar happened in Pereira with the female dogs Kiara and Luna, and even a kitten was rescued from another collapsed building. Each video was shared thousands of times, not because it solved the tragedy, but because, amid so much loss, it showed that there were still reasons to breathe a sigh of relief.
