An underground signal put the Ark of Noah back in the spotlight. The research organization Noah’s Ark Scans claims to have located the remains of the mythical vessel in Turkey, placing the discovery more than 4.300 years after the biblical account.
The team studying the Durupinar formation near Mount Ararat says new scans detected possible chambers, tunnels, and underground layers. The boat-shaped outline had already fueled the hypothesis; the radar adds clues that could point to an artificial structure.
Andrew Jones, the organization’s founder, who has been studying the site for nearly 30 years, described the findings as a “new line of evidence”. Organic material was also found, and is now being analyzed for traces of deteriorated wood.
But it still needs to be confirmed that the cavities are artificial, that the material is wood, and that the site can be scientifically dated. For now, the signals spark curiosity; they do not prove that the Ark is there.
