In Gimje, a BBQ restaurant was even more formal: “We strongly prohibit the arrival of national team coach Hong Myung-bo”. And in Mapo-Gu, a café summed up the national feeling without filters: “He won’t come, but I’m still angry”.
What started as memes ended up escalating into threats and massive calls for the coach to be fired. No one really believes Hong Myung-bo was going to show up at those places, but in football wounded pride needs a place to vent. 😅⚽
