Ringo Starr is one of the most famous figures in music history and, according to estimates published by specialized websites, is said to have a net worth close to US$350 million. However, his favorite sandwich is a long way from being a luxurious meal.

The drummer of The Beatles told Stephen Colbert during an interview that, when it comes to this classic, he prefers something extremely simple: bread and goat cheese.

“What is the best sandwich?”, the host asked him.
“Cheese”, Starr replied. He then clarified that it has to be goat cheese, because he avoids consuming products made with cow’s milk.
His unusual choice went viral again after a content creator recreated the sandwich for a series about famous musicians’ favorite foods. The version uses toasted bread, creamy goat cheese, and another, firmer goat cheese.

Starr’s explanation about the “large molecules” in cow’s milk has no scientific backing, but his preference does leave us with a curious image: a star who has made millions and could eat practically anything still enjoys a combination of just two ingredients.
It’s not that money doesn’t matter, but rather a reminder that fame and wealth do not necessarily change what a person truly enjoys. Sometimes, even after conquering the world, a person’s tastes remain rooted in the simplest things. 🥹
