RJ Mitte was 34 years old, and the world knew him as Walter White Jr., Bryan Cranston’s son on Breaking Bad.

He died on Monday, October 12, 2026, in Texas, according to TMZ, which cites an official from the county where the death occurred. The actor’s representative confirmed the news to Variety, and authorities are keeping the investigation open.

Born Roy Frank Mitte III in Jackson, Mississippi, he lived with cerebral palsy, just like his character. He appeared on screen for 56 episodes and turned that coincidence into a cause: he was an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children’s, and chaired his own foundation to call for greater representation of people with disabilities in Hollywood.

His life was still in motion. He was promoting his film ‘Talking to Strangers’ and had appeared on podcasts days earlier. He left behind a career that changed how television portrayed disability. 💔
