Singer Caleb Shomo, 33, surprised his followers after publicly coming out as gay following nearly 14 years of marriage to Fleur Shomo. The Beartooth frontman shared a lengthy message on Instagram in which he confessed that he had spent years internally struggling with his sexual orientation.

As he explained, for a long time he repressed his feelings and even used alcohol as a way to avoid facing what he was really feeling. “I am a proudly gay man”, the musician wrote, saying that he finally decided to be honest publicly so he could stop living while hiding an important part of himself.

Hours later, his now ex-wife Fleur also broke her silence and confirmed the end of their relationship. In an emotional post, she acknowledged that supporting Caleb while watching her marriage come to an end has been “incredibly difficult”, although she said she will continue loving and supporting him.
