In 2019, during the Chombueng Marathon in Thailand, runner Khemjira Klongsanun was at the center of a scene that moved thousands of people when she rescued an abandoned puppy in the middle of the race.

The athlete saw the little dog trembling by the side of the road under the intense heat, took him in her arms, and covered the last 30 kilometers with him until crossing the finish line. After finishing the race, she tried to find his owners, but no one claimed him.

In the end, she decided to adopt him and name him “Chombueng”, in honor of the race where she found him. Over time, the dog managed to recover and adapt to his new life.
