Salma Hayek is days away from turning 60. And every time a photo of her appears, the same comments rain down: that she doesn’t age, that she looks much younger. As if that were the only possible way to say that a woman is beautiful.
For years, she herself thought that aging would mean losing things. At 56, she put it this clearly: she believed she would stop working, that perhaps she would no longer be in love. She has never had Botox. She hasn’t had a facelift or used fillers, either. But she does take care of her skin, and she does get noninvasive treatments. She didn’t let time simply pass her by: she went along with it, without asking it to make her look twenty.
Today, on the verge of becoming a grandmother, she is still filming. Her next movie arrives this very year.
