He asked his friends and teachers to start calling him “Sam”. It was not just a nickname change; it was the creation of an alter ego, a protective shield. “Sam” was the name of the heroes in comic books and old Western films that he admired so much; a strong, tough, confident character who feared nothing. By adopting this new identity, the boy began to walk with his head held high.
The real miracle happened when Sam discovered theater almost by accident in high school. When he stepped onto a stage and was given a script, something magical happened inside his brain: when he played someone else, the stutter disappeared completely.
