For Sandra Bullock, there is one word that has no place when someone talks about Louis and Laila: “adopted”. To her, they are her children, period ❤️
The actress became a mom to Louis in 2010 and, five years later, welcomed Laila into her family. Laila had been in the foster care system. Since then, Sandra has spoken openly about the responsibility of raising two children whose experiences outside the home may be very different from the ones she had.

That’s why she reacted when, during an interview, Louis was referred to as her “adopted son”. “Please don’t say that. He is my son. I would give my life for him”, she replied, making it clear that, for her, the family bond needs no further explanation.
Over the years, she also said that she began talking with Louis from a young age about discrimination, prejudice, and how other people might treat him, because she wanted to prepare him for situations she knew she would not always be able to avoid.
Sandra may not share all the experiences her children will have, but there is one thing she has never doubted: Louis and Laila don’t need to share her blood to be completely hers ❤️
