“Please applaud someone else’s courage in something”.
Sarah Jessica Parker had to put it that plainly. It all started in the summer of 2021, when she was photographed having lunch outdoors in Manhattan with Andy Cohen: hair tied back, no makeup, and her gray roots on full display. The pictures went viral and, she told Allure magazine, what followed was “months and months” of conversation about how brave she was for showing her gray hair.

For her, the explanation was much less epic: she doesn’t have time to get her roots colored every two weeks. And there’s more: she hadn’t even stopped dyeing her hair, because those lighter streaks were the work of the summer sun.

You too would have noticed the detail she pointed out. Beside her was Cohen, with a completely gray mane, and nobody mentioned it. “I’m not angry, it’s just an observation”, she clarified. Today, at 61, her 2022 quote is circulating again as she continues to sport her natural look on the red carpet. Is it courage or simply living naturally?
