Sena wasn’t going to make it through the night.
They found her on the brink of death in a rural area of Thailand, just before New Year’s: hairless, malnourished, and lifeless. Beth, a volunteer at a local shelter, took her home just so she wouldn’t die alone. She didn’t expect anything more. But after a few days, Sena wagged her tail for the first time, and that will to live completely transformed her: her coat, strength, and joy returned. She became a symbol that no case is as hopeless as it seems.
Sena died 14 months later, leaving Beth with a love she didn’t know where to put. Then Sonny appeared, an abandoned little dog who nearly died waiting for help and who, even though no one was looking for him, resembled her. The most moving part is that Beth feels she still had so much love to give Sena, and that she can now give it to Sonny, a dog who also needed a second chance.
