A school in Argentina sparked a heated discussion on social media after imposing new rules on how mothers and guardians may dress when picking up their children.

The institution asked people to avoid very short shorts, overly tight clothing, sheer garments, and plunging necklines inside the premises. Although they do not prohibit waiting outside, they would be denying entry to those wearing clothing considered “inappropriate”. Apparently several mothers pushed for the measure after complaining that certain outfits “distracted” the children and even some husbands during school meetings.

While some defend the school’s right to set rules, others say this ends up controlling how women should dress.
