Severe lymphedema is a condition in which the body can’t properly drain an internal fluid, causing it to build up and make the arms or legs swell progressively.

At first it may seem mild, but over time the skin becomes hard, heavy, and starts to deform. In advanced stages, the area can grow excessively, open wounds may appear and leak fluid, and the appearance can become shocking, almost unrecognizable.

It’s no longer just an aesthetic issue: it can be painful, limit movement, and lead to serious infections, where surgery often becomes the only option.
