Rebeca Maiellano, the Venezuelan singer based in Mexico City whom the world knows as ShakiBecca, imitated her so well that she dared to do the unthinkable: she sang ‘Dai Dai’ — the official anthem of the 2026 World Cup by Shakira and Burna Boy — before an audience, with images from the tournament projected behind her, several days before Shakira premiered it at the opening ceremony at Estadio Azteca on June 11. 🎶🏟️

The problem is not just that she beat the Colombian to the premiere. FIFA is analyzing whether ShakiBecca used logos, emblems, official typography, and even the World Cup mascot without authorization — elements that the tournament’s sponsors protect with contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars. If an international lawsuit moves forward, the amount demanded could be in the millions and would force the immediate removal of all her material from social media and platforms. 💸⚠️

ShakiBecca has already come out to defend herself: she denies having been Shakira’s double during the opening ceremony and says she has the artist’s public approval. But it’s one thing for Shakira to like her… and quite another to have FIFA’s approval. 👀
