Through a video on Instagram, the Colombian singer announced that the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, with which she collaborates, will donate $500,000 so affected children and teachers can return to class. But she didn’t stop at the announcement: she invited local organizations to apply for funding and issued a direct call to world leaders.

According to what she said, Canada’s prime minister, Mark Carney, has already taken the first step. Now Shakira hopes that France’s president, Emmanuel Macron, Germany’s chancellor, Friedrich Merz, and Portugal’s prime minister, Luís Montenegro, will join in to unlock more resources. 🇻🇪❤️
