Rihanna could hire an army of nannies. She could go her whole life without changing a diaper, getting up in the middle of the night, or bathing anyone with her own hands. She has the money for that and much more.
She chooses not to.

Alongside A$AP Rocky, she has raised her three children without outside help since day one. RZA arrived in 2022. Riot Rose in 2023. Rocki Irish in September of this year. Three babies, zero nannies.
“We got home, we had no one. It was just us as parents and our baby”, the singer told the British edition of Vogue.

In an industry where luxury is measured in assistants and full-time staff, she decided to measure her life differently.
The phrase that sums it all up, she said without embellishment around the last Mother’s Day: “I didn’t wait 35 years to have children just so someone else could take care of them”.

She did not wait three and a half decades to watch her children grow up from afar. She waited to experience every second up close.

Because there is one kind of motherhood that can be paid for. And there is another that is simply lived, even if it costs sleep and leaves your hands full.
