Katherine Jones did not cry at home. She went to Italy. 🇮🇹
This 36-year-old businesswoman from Liverpool had spent a year and a half organizing her wedding at Tenuta Mocajo, an 18th-century estate in the heart of Tuscany, when her partner of more than six years decided to call it all off just seven days before the ceremony. The drama was set, but Katherine had other plans.
Since the flights had already been paid for and were nonrefundable, she grabbed the white dress she was going to wear to get married, kept the photographer she had hired, and flew anyway with her group. Of the original 50 guests, 30 came with her (the groom’s guests preferred to stay home). For three days, there were toasts, dinners, dancing, and even a reggae-themed pool party 🌴🎉
After the weekend in Tuscany ended, Katherine continued the trip with her mother, heading to the Amalfi Coast. The video of the ‘wedding without a husband’ went viral on TikTok, and not exactly out of pity.
