At a wedding, the same pressure almost always shows up: perfect skin, flawless makeup, lashes, foundation, highlighter, and the idea that the bride has to look like “the best version of herself”… even though sometimes that means looking like someone else.
Madison Azevedo decided to do the opposite. The 26-year-old walked down the aisle with a bare face because she almost never wears makeup and didn’t want to feel disguised on her wedding day of all days. In fact, she said that her husband had never seen her wearing makeup, so she wanted him to marry the same woman she had always been.

The moment went viral on TikTok and surpassed 4 million views because, of course, not everyone is used to seeing a bride without makeup right at the altar. Some criticized her, but many women also applauded her for choosing something as simple as looking just like herself.
And it’s not that Madison had never worn makeup. As a child, she used it to hide her cystic acne, so she knows that feeling of covering herself up to feel more confident. But over time, the way she saw herself changed, and today she prefers to care for her skin rather than cover it.

Because in the end, getting married as yourself should also be an option. With makeup, without makeup, with acne, with texture, with real skin, or however each woman wants to look at herself in the mirror that day.
