A photograph published by Jennie, a member of BLACKPINK, sparked a huge discussion on social media after some users claimed to have found supposed proof of Photoshop in a detail that seemed easy to overlook: her reflection in the mirror.
The singer appears posing inside a mirrored elevator. While her face in the main photograph looks very defined, some users pointed out that the reflection shows an apparently rounder face with a different jawline.
The comparison went viral on X. One of the posts that spread the accusation surpassed 70 million views, accompanied by a phrase that summed up the theory: “She edited her entire face, but forgot the reflection in the mirror”.
The reaction was immediate. Some users accused Jennie of regularly editing her photographs and even said they felt deceived by the image.
But others came to her defense and offered a much less controversial explanation: the reflection was not captured from exactly the same angle as the camera, and the perspective, lighting, and position of the face can considerably change how the features look.
In fact, users who analyzed the photograph specifically pointed out that the mirror angle is different and that this could explain part of the difference.
So far, there is no confirmation that Jennie used Photoshop in this photograph.
