“His mom is my great-aunt.” Victoria Lucila Pérez went viral on TikTok after sharing the “story time of how I got together with my uncle.” What initially sounded like a shocking family scandal turned out to have an explanation few people expected: Agustín, her partner of eleven years, is actually adopted.
They met in 2015 in Buenos Aires, when she was a single mother and he had just arrived from Catamarca looking for a fresh start.
Despite the controversy, Victoria continues to defend her family and her two children against criticism. “Say whatever you want about me, but leave my children out of it,” she responded to negative comments online. Their relationship developed slowly through shared breakfasts and long conversations at her grandmother’s house, where Agustín helped raise her first child as if he were his own.
Today, the couple faces another challenge, as work has forced them to live apart physically while maintaining daily contact. “We’re doing well, trying to keep the relationship strong and missing each other a lot,” she admitted.
Despite the prejudice and criticism, they hope to reunite by the end of the year and continue building their life together away from family labels and judgment.
