After so many years together, Javier Bardem still looks at Penélope Cruz as if he still can’t believe she is his wife 🥹
The actor spoke about his relationship with Penélope and made it clear that his admiration goes far beyond the physical. He described her as a woman he feels incredibly fortunate to have found and with whom he happened to coincide “at the same time and place” in life.
But there was one much simpler confession that ultimately caught people’s attention: “She is incredibly beautiful. When I see her photographed in magazines I think: ‘Is that my wife?’”.
Javier and Penélope met while filming Jamón, jamón in 1992, although their love story began years later, after they reunited while working on Vicky Cristina Barcelona. They married in 2010, had two children, and have since tried to keep much of their family life away from the cameras.
Perhaps that is why hearing Javier talk about her this way feels so special. After so many years, two children, and an entire life built together, he still seems to look at Penélope with the same admiration as someone who cannot believe how lucky he was.
