Her light eyes, extremely long eyelashes, and white fur look like they came straight out of a fairy tale. But Luna isn’t an animated character: she’s a young lioness who lives at the Nature Park zoo in Daegu, South Korea.
She was born in 2025 alongside her brother Luca, and has captured hearts since she was little with an appearance so delicate that many users wondered whether her photos had been created with artificial intelligence.
In one of the most heartwarming photos, Luna rests her head on the hand of one of her caretakers, showing off her enormous eyes and eyelashes that look drawn on.
Her beautiful fur is due to an uncommon genetic trait that reduces pigmentation, known as leucism. It doesn’t mean she’s albino.
But her family history is also moving: her parents, Leo and Lea, were rescued from a facility where they had been living in poor conditions.
Now, Luna and Luca are growing up in the zoo’s care and have moved into a new outdoor space.
