Emily León, the Colombian influencer known as Emily Rococó, set social media on fire with a TikTok video where she did something no one expected: she grabbed the official Colombia National Team jersey and sewed pink rococo-style lace onto it.

Patriotic yellow with ruffles inspired by European colonial style. The result, let’s say, was not to everyone’s taste. 🎀😬

The timing didn’t help: the post came less than eight days before the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, just when the tricolor jersey is more charged with emotion than ever.

The flood of criticism didn’t take long — “it’s disrespectful”, hundreds of users wrote. The Colombian Football Federation also joined in, asking that the garment be kept out of controversies unrelated to football. Emily Rococó, for her part, has not responded publicly. 🇨🇴

The curious thing? This is only the first in a series: the creator promised to “rococoisar” the jerseys of all the national teams qualified for the World Cup. Creative expression or disrespect toward a national symbol? 👇
