Kate Cassidy, 27, uploaded a video to TikTok showing herself at a Miami clinic while a laser removed her tattoos from her hand, which she had gotten in honor of Liam Payne. Among them was the famous “444”, the angel number the couple shared and which referred to a note in which the singer had talked to her about marrying her.

Comments quickly poured in. One user bluntly wrote: “She no longer loves him”. Kate did not stay silent and immediately responded in another video, explaining that she knew some people would be offended, but that the real reason had nothing to do with her feelings: the lines of those tattoos, the first ones she ever got in her life, were simply too thick for her taste.

She also clarified that she is not looking to remove them forever. She plans to redo them with fine lines at another studio, keeping the same meaning she gave those marks when the former One Direction member was still alive. Liam died in October 2024, at age 31, after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
