Havva never missed a Law class for four years.

Not because she was studying for the degree, but because her daughter Berru Merve Kul is blind and needed someone by her side to read to her, guide her, and help her with every exam. So Havva sat beside her in every classroom at Sakarya University in Turkey, unintentionally becoming her fellow student.

When graduation day arrived in 2022, the university had a surprise ready: in addition to Berru’s diploma, they presented Havva with one of her own, an honorary diploma, for having been the invisible support throughout those four years. Mother and daughter walked onto the stage together, and for the first time Havva’s efforts had a name and a signed certificate. 🎓❤️
