A tense altercation that took place inside a subway car went viral after an older woman began verbally and physically attacking a trans woman who was traveling in peace and bothering no one. According to records shared by witnesses, the argument allegedly began as soon as the woman saw the young woman, hurling insults and offensive comments related to her gender identity.
According to the video, the older woman began hitting the trans woman with her purse while shouting profanities at her in front of the rest of the passengers. For several seconds, the young woman tried to remain calm and stayed seated, avoiding reacting immediately despite the constant attacks she was receiving.
However, the situation escalated when the trans woman decided to defend herself. After handing her purse to the person accompanying her, she stood up and threw a kick that ended up leaving the woman seated in the back part of the car. The reaction surprised several passengers, who had watched the entire sequence from the beginning of the conflict.
After the confrontation, the older woman completely changed her attitude and tried to present herself as the victim of the situation, seeking the support of the people present on the subway. Nevertheless, those who witnessed the incident had already seen how the attacks began, so a large part of the passengers did not support the woman’s version.
