Beau never had a present father. Her mother, who raised her alone, is no longer with her.
For years she worked as a makeup artist in a Cincinnati building, and over time she told her story to Gill Pulliam, the owner of the place, a 79-year-old man who listened to her patiently whenever they crossed paths. Three months before her wedding, Gill spoke first with the building’s other owner and then with Victor, Beau’s fiancé. Only afterward did he sit down with her and ask whether she would allow him to walk her down the aisle.
Beau said she felt something she had never known: a man choosing to care for her without anyone asking him to. In July 2025, she walked arm in arm with Gill to the altar, in the same building where she had met Victor years earlier. The photo went viral, but for her, the gesture had already healed something long before the world saw it.
