Edith Casas was 22 when she made a decision that shocked Argentina: marrying Víctor Cingolani, the ex-boyfriend of her twin sister Johana Casas and the main suspect in her murder.

The crime occurred in 2010 in the province of Santa Cruz, where Johana Casas was found dead after being shot. From the start of the investigation, Cingolani was identified as the main suspect in the case. However, Edith always publicly defended his innocence and said she was in love with him.

The relationship progressed while the accused remained in custody, until in 2013 the two finally got married inside the prison. After three years behind bars, he regained his freedom after another man was identified as the perpetrator of the crime.
