Kamila Rodrigues Cardoso started modeling at age 8.
She was born in Patos de Minas, Brazil, and grew up surrounded by runways, advertising campaigns, and the title of Miss Continente Teen Sol Nascente. Everything pointed to a career that would go from strength to strength.
But her father’s death, when she was just 9 years old, left a wound no camera flash could cover. At 16, she began drawing closer to her faith almost without seeking it, until one day at Mass she saw a nun walk by, and something inside her changed forever.
At first, her mother didn’t understand. She dreamed of grandchildren and fashion contracts, not a veil. Even so, Kamila entered the novitiate at 17, and at 18 took her new name: Sister Eva.
Today, she is part of the Congregation Sancta Dei Genitrix in Ceilândia, and went viral selling rosaries and crucifixes on the streets of Goiânia. The beauty she once pursued on a stage, she says, she now finds in serving others. 💫
