Axel Pons had everything many people dream of: speed, fame, and a sixth-place finish in the 2016 Italian Grand Prix in Moto2. The son of two-time world champion Sito Pons, he also worked as a model and studied fashion design.

In 2018, he left it all behind. He traded his helmet for a backpack and his racing boots for his own bare feet. Since then, he has been walking from Spain toward Pakistan, has already crossed nearly 10 countries, and now goes by Isaac. His long beard and calm gaze bear no resemblance to the impeccably groomed athlete he once was.

He says he is seeking union with God through simplicity. His father supports the decision, even though it may seem like the most radical turn anyone could take in life. He is 35 years old and continues walking 👣
