A tragic incident occurred at the Kidangoor Mahavishnu temple in Angamaly, India, when a male elephant named Mayyanad Parthasarathy broke free from his chains during a traditional festival.

The animal attacked Vishnu, a 40-year-old truck driver, who died at the scene after being violently rammed. In addition, his caretaker, Pradeep, was seriously injured and remains under care at a local medical center.

For nearly 2 hours, the animal caused panic by overturning cars and motorcycles parked near the religious site. Forest rangers had to intervene with tranquilizer darts to bring the situation under control while an official investigation got underway.
