She inaugurated the Manifesto Library, a permanent space inside the cultural auditorium of the historic Livraria Lello, born from the partnership between her Service95 book club and the bookstore itself. Nearly 100 titles censored throughout history, arranged around four themes: power, control, voice, and memory.
The British-Albanian singer called it a refuge for silenced books and authors who challenged power. And she left a phrase that sums up the whole project: “Sometimes the most subversive thing you can do is read a book and then talk about it”. 🗣️
