What was supposed to be an elegant routine on ice ended up turning into a disturbing scene in Moscow, Russia. World figure skating champion Victoria Sinitsina was skating alongside her husband, Nikita Katsalapov, when one wrong move caused the sharp skate blade to pierce her leg.
Within seconds, blood began to spread across the white ice as the audience watched in shock. The most unsettling part was the athlete’s reaction: despite the deep wound and the pain, she continued the performance almost without showing any expression.
After the number, she was taken to the hospital, where she received four stitches and managed to recover out of danger.
