In an interview with the outlet Mundo Deportivo, Wesley Sneijder said that he could have reached the level of the two biggest stars in modern football but that, by his own decision, he was not more competitive:
“I could have become Messi or Ronaldo. I simply didn’t feel like being that, I enjoyed life, maybe I had a few drinks with dinner and in those details lay the difference”, the Dutchman said.
