Juan García didn’t enter that supermarket just for the money.

He spent 202 days inside MrBeast’s challenge store, facing exhaustion and the pressure of the competition, and never lost his kindness. He looked out for the younger contestants and even struck up an unexpected friendship: Reyhan Dzeko helped him learn to read and write in English, while the two competed for the same prize.

Juan made it to the final stage alongside three other contestants and took home $248.346 dollars out of the million dollars at stake. But before he left, he did something priceless: he got a new ring for his wife, a gesture he hadn’t been able to afford at another point in his life, when he had to sell the one she wore.

Now he has another dream in mind: to build a house for her and their six children. For many, Juan won a contest. For him, he won the chance to give his family the home he had always imagined.
