“I miss my dad so much, but I’m so grateful that I can still hug him”. Rumer Willis spoke with painful honesty about what it has been like to be there for Bruce Willis since he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and learn to live with a reality that changed the relationship she knew with her father.
The actress explained that there are days when she inevitably misses the Bruce from before: his personality, his conversations, and the way they used to relate to each other. But she has also tried not to remain trapped solely in that loss and to learn to meet him as he is today.
“I can still hug him. I can tell him stories”, Rumer explained, while also trying to ensure that her daughter Louetta can share moments with her grandfather. For her, these small things have taken on enormous value precisely because she knows their relationship can no longer be as it was before.

Rumer acknowledged that it is a difficult experience to explain: her father remains physically by her side, but at the same time there are parts of him that she misses deeply. That is why she tries to focus on what they still have and make the most of every moment she can share with him.
“I miss who he was, but I love who he is now”. 💔A phrase that sums up that strange grief of missing someone you can still hug.
