One Sunday, at the Pontevedra bus terminal in Argentina, someone found a bus parked with the keys in the ignition. And instead of stealing it and fleeing, he did something much stranger: he put on the company shirt, started up unit 404 of line 236, and began driving as if he had been doing it for years.
He picked up passengers at every stop. He followed the route from memory, section by section, all the way to Morón. He even carried a falsified control sheet, which he filled out with complete seriousness while driving. He also had a knife among his belongings, although he never got to use it.
The performance continued until he crashed into another vehicle from the same line 236 at Eva Perón and Santo Domingo, right in front of the 4th Precinct. The other driver did not recognize him and reported it. When the police got him off the bus, the 19-year-old did not resist: he only said that he wanted to fulfill his dream of becoming a bus driver. Now the Morón Prosecutor’s Office No. 2, headed by Fernando Capello, is evaluating whether he is criminally responsible from a psychiatric standpoint.
