English football experienced a very emotional moment with the tribute to Bradley Lowery, the young Sunderland fan who died in 2017 after battling childhood cancer.

During the match between Sunderland and Everton, both teams and their supporters came together to remember him on the day he would have turned 15.

Before the match, a huge banner bearing Bradley’s image was unfurled and, in the 15th minute, the entire stadium stood up to applaud and sing his name. His parents, Gemma and Carl Lowery, were present and were moved by the tribute.

In addition, supporters from both clubs took part in a bike ride to raise funds for the Bradley Lowery Foundation, which continues to help children with serious illnesses and their families.

The most special thing was seeing how two rival sets of supporters put football aside for a few minutes to remember a boy who touched all of England with his story and his smile.
