Leah Stewart thought of one person while fighting to survive the shark attack: her young daughter August. 💔
On June 13, the Australian woman was swimming at Coogee Beach, Sydney, when she was attacked by a great white shark. The injuries were devastating: she lost her left arm below the elbow, suffered serious injuries to one leg, and spent ten days in an induced coma.
More than three months later, as she was making progress in her recovery, she received another blow. The second skin graft performed on her leg failed, and the wound remains open. “I’m pretty devastated”, she admitted while sharing the news.
Despite the new setback, Leah continues her recovery, holding on to the same reason she remembered during the attack: to return home and keep watching her daughter grow. 💙
