Alexis is 21 years old and lives in Esperanza, Santa Fe.
On August 14, he fell off his motorcycle and fractured his femur in three places. He spent nearly 20 days hospitalized at José María Cullen Hospital until doctors inserted a rod and discharged him. He left in a wheelchair, accompanied by a friend, to wait for a taxi right at the entrance to the emergency department.
There, a police cruiser maneuvering to let an ambulance pass lost control and struck both of them, hurling them against the entrance gates. The impact broke the rod they had inserted days earlier: he had to go straight back into the operating room, the sixth surgery of his life. Before the motorcycle accident, Alexis had already survived a fall from a third floor while working as a construction worker, suffering elbow injuries, lost teeth, and a head wound. With that collection of accidents under his belt, he summed it all up in a phrase that went viral: “I have no lives left”.
