Christina Ricci has 12 years’ worth of reasons to take this issue seriously: her son.
The actress said that the night before, she sat down to talk with him, just as news broke of the scandal surrounding the lawsuit against Cornell University. It wasn’t just any conversation. She explained what he should do if he ever receives something like that in a group chat or anywhere else, and made it clear that his size, gender, and privilege in this world should be used to protect others, never to look the other way.

Her message ended up being a call to all parents: “Talk to your children. Make sure they know exactly what to do”. And she ended with a phrase that became the center of the debate: in times when villains seem to be gaining ground, we have to inspire them to be heroes.
