The mission: get close to Mekha Fa-wap-wap without raising suspicion, accused of selling illicit substances and running illegal gambling from his cellphone. It worked so well that they arrested him in the middle of the party without a single incident, while people kept dancing around him.
Afterward, at the Tha Luang police station, the officers posed in their costumes next to the handcuffed detainee. Colonel Panthep Panadi led the operation, but what went viral was the police’s own comment on social media: they didn’t want to waste the costume rental.
