Alicia Lofton had been married only a few months when she discovered evidence on social media that her husband, Marcus Lofton, was having relationships with other men. Shortly afterward, she decided to file for divorce. But the story did not end there.
Marcus already had a court order prohibiting him from approaching her after a domestic violence complaint. Even so, he went to the place where Alicia was staying. The argument escalated and, according to the investigation, a firearm was discharged 15 times during the confrontation.
Alicia tried to escape, but died from her injuries. Marcus fled the scene, although he was captured shortly afterward by authorities. He received a sentence of 25 to 50 years in prison.
