He died in March 2026, at age 86. Six months later, the Emmy ceremony put together its In Memoriam segment, and his name simply didn’t appear. While Dolly Parton, Rob Reiner, and Catherine O’Hara received lengthy tributes, Norris was left out, along with other names like Nicholas Brendon and Patrick Muldoon.
On X, the outrage was immediate: users called the omission an “unforgivable error” toward one of TV’s most beloved action figures.
