In Ecuador, a criminal gang ended up drawing attention for something very different from its crimes: its prominent bellies. The group was known as “Los Preñados” and also as “Panza de Yegua”, nicknames that made even more sense when images of its detained members began circulating.
Four members were captured in the province of Guayas, but on social media many users stopped talking about the operation for a moment to focus on the group’s peculiar unofficial “uniform”: everyone seemed to wear their belly as part of the membership. 😂
Between jokes, memes, and comments about whether the requirement for joining the gang was “having a belly”, Los Preñados ended up going viral over a detail that probably never figured into their criminal plans.
