During a women’s 3,000-meter competition at a school games event in Inner Mongolia, China, a stray puppy named “Banzhen” unexpectedly entered the track and began running alongside her.
The moment caused laughter among those in attendance, as the puppy accompanied the athlete for one lap before being removed from the track. The young woman managed to take first place and also broke the school record: “It was the most special way to receive support”, she commented.
The student later said that she usually feeds the puppy and that it is very affectionate. She also confessed that, although she found the situation funny and exciting, she was afraid of tripping or accidentally stepping on it.
