Bryan Johnson has been spending millions for years to avoid dying.
The 48-year-old American entrepreneur, famous for his Blueprint project and his motto “Don’t Die”, undergoes extreme routines, constant blood tests, and experimental treatments to delay aging. But on August 20, he shared his latest move on X, and it didn’t involve a single injection.

He adopted a dog. Her name is Katara, she’s a Belgian Malinois, and Johnson explained his decision by citing a specific statistic: dog owners have approximately a 24% lower risk of dying prematurely, according to studies that have found this association. That said, the evidence shows a correlation, not direct proof that owning a dog extends life on its own.
Even so, for someone who has turned every minute of his routine into an experiment against time, adding Katara to the formula makes sense. The post surpassed 1.3 million views, and many users soon began asking him whether the next step would be adopting an entire pack.
I got a dog.
