Elvis Carlos is 7 years old and has one clear obsession: Spider-Man. He had never acted in a movie. He had never set foot on a set. But someone at Marvel saw something in his self-taped audition and gave him the role any young fan would dream of having.
In the final scene of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, as Peter Parker escapes injured from a hospital in New York, a child in costume makes the superhero’s iconic gesture to him from his father’s shoulders. Peter stops, looks at him, and returns it. That child is Elvis. And the man carrying his real-life son through the crowd is his own dad, Ken, who also appears in the movie.
His mom, Siân, could not contain her excitement: “Forever grateful for this”, she wrote on Instagram alongside photos of Elvis on set and seeing himself on the big screen for the first time. They asked him who his real-life hero was. He did not hesitate: Tom Holland, the very actor he had just shared his first movie scene with.
